I know I'm no where near a frequent poster to this site but I do look at it every day and enjoy the people, opinions, and most of all the information.

I'm just a weekend warrior when it comes to welding. I mostly read the daily posts and when I'm ready for any kind of project that I think I might like some insight to, the first thing I do is use the search function.

Well, a couple days ago I got an idea for a project and thought I'd do a search here. I know the image verification part of the search is a security/anti spam thing but man-o-live are they extremely hard to read. Had to go through five or six of them before I found one I could even come close to understanding. Actually tried to do a search here on this topic but once again can't read the things so I said nuts to it and just figured I'd post.

Does it really have to be made so difficult to read? I'm guessing the obvious answer is yes otherwise it wouldn't be that way but man is it a pain in the arse.

This is where I'd usually jump in with a "you suck at the internet" picture, but you were using the search feature like SO MANY OTHERS FAIL TO DO that I have to give you a big *thumbs up* instead.

You are honorable. Keep up the good work, hopefully others will follow.

You only have to deal with the CAPTCHA (a.k.a "image verification") when you are not logged in.

Just log in before you start searching and you won't have to deal with it.

X 2.

I'd only wish more would follow your way.

We may avoid more questions like this.......

( i just bought a new welder and i want to know if i can wire it up direct to the power lines out the front of my house ):dizzy:

Then you tell them no and why and they will attack your credability.

 Well there ya go, I did not know that. Thanks Tensaiteki.

Agree, the search function is great. I find that if you just post a question you obvioulsy get specific answers to just that question. If you do a search you find other bits of information that you may not of thought about and the project may evolve from the original idea. Very helpful.

Thanks guys.

You can also use Google to search sites. If you put

site:weldingweb.com

in to the Google search box before your list of parameters, Google will only list hits from WeldingWeb. I use it frequently for sites that put a number or time limit on searching, it's much faster than jumping through hoops.
