I was surfing around and found a cool War Department Education Manual on Blacksmith fundamentals from the 30's.

This <a href="http://metalwebnews.com/howto/blacksmith/farmshop.html">LINK</a> is in html but the background is kinda goofy.
It's great reading! Even tells you how to weld.
