I have owned and operated a Miller 2050 for about 6 years now. I just moved into a new shop with new power comming in to the shop. When I plug the 2050 in and turn it on, It shows it is ready to cut. When I pull the trigger, It blows an arc for a split second and then goes out but the lights stay on like there is nothing wrong? I have taken it to the local Miller service center and the checked it out as o.k. I can take it to my old shop or plug it in to a Miller Bobcat and it works fine? The only difference is the new shop has one more wire deticated to the neutral(some new electrical code). The power is single phase. I have checked all the power outputs with a volt/ohm meter and they are all within normal range? Any one else had any similar problems? Your help is greatly appreciated! Thank You.

the fourth wire is for your sub panel, I would guess, It should be separated from the neutral and all your grounds should go to that grounding terminal, The neutral should still go to the neutral. Does you welder have 4 wires or three? The neutral should go to the neutral and the grouinding conductor should go to the the grounding wire. let me know what you have and maybe we can figure something out.
