View Full Version : Power wiring for LE Power Mig 300

Recently picked up a used Lincoln Electric Power Mig 300 but without the power cord. Does anybody know the wiring schematics to hook it up?

It's running on a 3 pole / 4 wire 30amp power cord. I have a white wire, green wire (ground), black wire and red wire. There are 4 screws behind the clear plastic cover on the back of the welder which I assume the 4 wires from the cord connect to but I have no idea which colours go to which screw. I'm still waiting for a reply from LE.

Unfortunately, I tried to get the wiring info from our praxair sales agent but even he's not sure. Screwing around with 600v makes me a little nervous.

Thanks in advance for anybody's assistance.

(I'm a newbie, so pardon of I'm missing any important info.)

Thanks Pulser. I got that document however I think i was way in over my head as i know absolutely nothing about what they were talking about in that manual. I had a local LE rep come in and do it for me. Don't wanna bust my welder. Thanks anyways.

Oh... it's fired up and blazin... got Praxair & LE local reps to come in and do it up properly. Whip is heavier than a Miller, but I like. the ground is shorter though, I will eventually extend that. Did my first spool change the other day and that was easy as well. So far so good.
