I am looking at buying an Everlast TIG welder in the next month or so, probably an AC Powermaster, a Powermast 164, or a Powermaster 226. I noticed they all come with fingertip controls standard. I know most other manufacturers give you the choice of finger tip or foot pedal control at purchase, and I am wondering if I can get that with an Everlast. I don't really want to have to buy a brand new welder, and then buy the foot control at an additional cost. Thanks!

racinjason,

I think you may have misunderstood the information out there on the units. The control on the torch is not for amperage. It is to control the operation of the welder via the panel programming. You can preset values for pre flow, post flow, start currents, end currents, up slope and down slope and use the tig torch switch to signal the unit to start the cycle programming or actually control the timing of the transition from start current to upslope and from welding to downslope and finally terminate the arc. All this makes the foot pedal unecessary for many applications.

All the units do come with foot pedal control however, so that you can use one just as any other unit.
