Wow! Hello to all. This is amazing, I am very excited to join in and learn. This is a powerful collection of real experience. I just found this site surfing around for equipment info, and had to register right away.

I am a sculptural and “functional object makin” artist. I work in metals, particularly steels. I have played a bit in blacksmithing and do use the forge some for bending and shaping to form, however my strength and background is in fabrication. Not that my welding fabrication experience is extensive by any means, but I am fascinated by the processes. And very excited to tap into this community to learn and expand in such processes. I am planning to continue my 2 years or so TIG welding experience as a focus in my work, and even making the art of TIG welding and that process itself the point to my work.

I just moved to Michigan and started a position instructing sculpture at a small college. I am planning to put together a personal studio/shop here soon. I have some funds saved away to invest in equipment and set-up. I hope to use this forum for helpful advice in equipment and setting up my welding practice.

As Jking beautifully put it, I consider yall friends!
