Nice stuff.

I always wanted a Hypertherm hat ( i collect hats ), but the rep never came through with the one he promised me.

A PowerMax 45, and a few consumables costs a little over AU$5000. I think you should get a hat in the box for that price.

Maybe oneday.....

I still love my 45 though.

I made sure i got a Kemppi hat. Told the rep not to deliver the macine without a hat or no deal. NO $.

Heck.....I don't even have one. I have an old Esab hat that I wear when running one of my 3 Hypertherm plasmas.

Yeah.....each of the district sales managers have budgets for things like hats, shirts, pens....sales type giveaways. The budget for most companies (including Hypertherm's) has kind of shrunk due to the economy and the downturn in sales......it will come back but your old hat may be a little worn by then!

Would you like to get a $25.00 gift card back from Hypertherm, I can email you the info if you pm me your email address, you sign up with them and they send the card. You do have to do the process when you register though, so if you are registered already its too late I think.

A little story about a hat, and the eventual dissolution of a marriage:)

She'd just moved in. Now I gotta deal with her stuff too:rolleyes:

I'd gone to Tulsa, or somwhere.

While I was gone, thinking all was right with the world, she decided the house needed a cleaning:eek::eek:

Pup, and I , were having a good time..........not knowing about the absolute destruction going on at the home 20 in our absence.

I suppose I ought to tell you about the HAT. An old hat from Hammons Implement in Greeley Colorado. It was the absolute best Oliver parts dealer in the Continental United States:blob2:. It fit my pinhead like a glove, and had been parked there for YEARS!!!!!!

Another thing about hats...................There's the local everyday hat, the good one. Grease and sweat stained.........................Then there's the go to Tulsa hat............nice, clean, shows the world you're a man of respect, and deserving respect;) I think Clarence even knew the difference:) He'd look at you with a little deeper depth in those big brown eyes.

So I get back to the house..................

First thing I noticed was that the furniture had all grown legs. Nothing was where it was supposed to be.

Ok, I can deal with that.

MY HAT WAS ON THE BACK OF THE SOFA WHEN I LEFT

NOW IT'S GONE

"Uh honey, where's my hat?"

She was cute, I mean really cute. And even when she told me she'd thrown out that "old crappy hat", she still looked pretty cute.

The pup just sat there observing the whole thing, but I have a sneaking suspicion he probably saw more than I did.

One of the next trips to Tulsa was to buy a new washer/dryer. For some reason, known only to the Gods, the old set wasn't good enough anymore

You can sorta see where this is going.

In the intervening years I've always wondered what started the fault line in the marriage. Thought long and hard.

Could it have been that old hat??????????

I looked at the PlasmaCam and the Torchmate and have decided on the Torchmate.

Things are a little easier to get in Australia for the Torchmate.

May also get a 4X6 or 4X8.

Farmersammm,

Ever thought about writing a novel? This is classic! And everyone can associate.....I'm on the third wife.....same house, work for the same company......and I have a couple of original hats from the first marriage.....I suspect I'll have them when I die.

Gee Jim I didn't know those hats were that hard to come by. I guess being an employee owned company everyone gets the hats but the employees/owners. Oh well a hat is not that big a deal. I have the hat hanging in my farm shop or buried in the cnc shop. I would think you would rather have that PowerMax 45 Tee shirt!! Remember I had one and gave it away in a contest.

Gee Sam I guess Pup knew what was going on long before you did. With my luck I would have come home late at night with that new washer & dryer for her only to step into the dark house and trip over the furniture.I have everything memorized in my house. Too bad about that hat! I know the feeling! One hat for mowing, one for harvesting, one for cutting lumber, one for welding, one for painting, one for ATV riding, one for Harley riding, and yes I still have all my military hats.

Larry we have a Torchmate X 10' x 40' CNC Table that we run the Hypertherm HPR-260 on. Its a pure industrial setup for our use. I have seen the smaller Torchmate's in action and they do very well for the owners. I have also seen a few PlasmaCam's in action and I have to admit that the PlasmaCam's seemed more user friendly as far as setup and operation for private owners and small shops. PlasmaCam's Software is easier to learn and operate.

OK Jim the wife's come & they go but the company & the comfortable old hats stay.:)

About 20 years ago when I was a partner in a company we made what at the time was our largest capital purchase in a piece of equipment that was about $120,000. Us three partners got some nice logo leather jackets as swag. On the purchase one of my partners, on showing off his jacket to his wife at the time remarked how we all got these "free" jackets. Without missing a beat she deadpanned "those jackets weren't free, they cost each one of you 40 grand". I suppose I should register my Powermax so I can get the $1000 hat that comes with the free cutter. ;)

I will call the hat free as it was unexpected SWAG.

Also I have one referral with a $25 gift card for any new purchaser of a Powermax system, if you are purchasing in the next week or 2 you will be able to get the card from Hypertherm when you register for your warranty. Go buy a system :]
