Hi Everyone - - Looks like another excellent forum.:)

I am a total welding novice (hope that's OK). I have owned a wirefeed welder - a DECASTAR 150E - for a number of years, but have yet to really get into this. Mainly due to a lack of proper indoor shop space, I have not done as much as I would like. Most of my welding projects so far have been around minor repairs and fabricating of special tools and jigs I can use while working on my vehicles. I am planning the construciton of a 750 sq.ft. garage/shop next summer (slab is already in the ground). So hopefully I can get more into metal work - I love it.

So again, I hope being a novice is OK by all you professionals out there. I think forums like these are so awesome because of the great people with huge knowledge willing to share it. I just hope I can also contribute in my own way.

New from Canada, Edmonton as well...I have another post that I'm not going to get into right now, welding is fun. At work I'm going to stay late a couple nights and burn through some sticks with my boss, he is willing to teach me, I'm willing to learn :-D

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it. Been doing my own mechanic work (as a hobby) for over 20 years now and have never really had a good place to work. This way I will have a nice place to work as well as park our vehicles.

Oh - - did I mention the hydronic (water) heated floor....:D

I live in a 1200 sq foot mobile home, and my living room flloor is plywood with a 17" Jet full hieght drill press in the middle. Various bandsaws and other working tools around. The welder is on supply leads long enough to reach outside, and 25' secondary power leads. The mig is light enough to takle outside, and all the tanks have quick connects, and a single 30 ft hose I use depending on the process decides which tank I use. They're too heavy to move around. I have them placed on top of some sturdy floor this time that has cement block directly underneath. I am blessed with an understanding GF, and the expectation that when $$$ allows, a shop will be built VERY Soon. :) Brian Lee Sparkeee27
