I've been trying to find a list of all the different tips and consumable for my machine. It looks like the only options for electrodes are 120573 and 120574, but the list of shields and nozzles seem to be confusing.
What effect do the different shaped nozzles have on cutting? I know the gouging is for blowing out welds, fine cut for small kerfs, but there are many other nozzles that I have seen and don't know what they do or if they would work. Specifically, 020546
Also, whats effects do the different swirl rings have, 120576 and 220332

Hopefully I am not too late with this response, thanks for bringing this post tpo my attention Spector!
The two different electrodes: Part number 573 is the standard electrode used for cutting with the standard shielded consumables....you will likely use this one 99% of the time for best overall cutting performance, it is also used with the gouging nozzle.
Electrode part number 574 is called the extended electrode and is for use with non shielded cutting consumables and is also used with the Fine Cut consumables for better low speed cutting on materials under 3/16". The non shielded parts are usually only used in applications where you need to get the torch in a corner or a tight spot as they are pointier than the sheilded parts. Nozzle life is shorter with the non shielded consumables as compared to shielded, so for the majority of flat plate cutting applications....don't use them.
Swirl ring numer 120576 can be used with all combinations of consumables, including the FineCut parts. Swirl ring # 220332 can be used only with FineCut parts for hand cutting...if you are having issues with getting the plasma arc to transfer to the plate, especially when starting on an edge. This swirl ring is rarely used.
Nozzle part number 020546, according to my information, is for a completely different torch, so I would not rcomend trying to use that with your Powermax600.
You can go to the Hypertherm website and download a .pdf manual for your system, it will provide good info as to which consumables should be used for each application, as well as part numbers.
Best regards, Jim Colt
