Anyone have plans or pics of their homemade engine stand? I have a engine rebuild project coming up this summer and I thought I would build my own engine stand to practice my welding. Thanks for any info.

Go to any autoparts store or Harbor Freight with a tape measure and a note pad. If the clearks give you any guff, tell them you want to be certain, before you buy, that their engine stand will fit in the available storage space.
If you are at all unsure about your welding skills, make sure to add a triangulated brace for strength.

I would by a cheapy engine stand from HF and improve on there design. By the time you got the material and the hardware, casters etc. you could have bought the cheap one and modify as needed.
A tool tray and a landing gear on the head is a nice touch.
I made a run in stand to test small block and big block chevies.
Go to my main page and you will see pics of it. I have yet to get the build up of the stand on my site. I have tons of pictures from start to finish.
