I just bought the air filter kit for the powermax 30. I just wanted to know does the air filter kit ever need to be replaced or is it good for ever?

hmm not to be a smart *** or know it all, but does anyone read the instructions that come with the equipment or tools they buy??? just a small effort of looking at it would answer 90% of your questions....and sometimes there are short cuts or tricks that peple come up with over time that are not written down anyware..but not this case..

The instructions that I got were just for installation. I am sorry if the question seemed stupid. I just thought this was a good place to get info since it is a forum. I did not know it was a place to come and make fun of people. I was always told the only stupid question is the one you did not ask. If you did not like my question you did not have to post anything.

Hi tate48,
I assume this is what you have: Hypertherm Air Filtration Kit - 128647
http://www.bakersgas.com/media/products/HYP128647.jpg
If it is, the filter cartridge should last a good while. The replacement cartridges can be found and are available with different micron filtration options. A side note, more filtration reduces the flow rate of air. WW Grainger will have replacement cartridges if needed.
Do not mount it on the compressor, for the moisture separator works best once the compressed air cools down. A second remote volume tank helps allot in cooling and drying the air or of course and air dryer.
Good Luck

the intent was NOT to make fun of anyone...but to stimulate a little self thinking, as I stated I was not being a knowitall nor a smart a$$, but im sure there is literature from the company on service life and mantinence for the air filter. many times I answer my own questions with a little reading..
