I bought an everlast 250 EX 7-6-09 . I am a part time welder machinist and a full time mobile mechanic. It has been a good welder, has a lot of reserve power and all the features I will ever need. I weld aluminum trans and engine cases in the Austin area for a few auto shops. I have taken it to a few boat shops on Lake Travis to do repair welding on aluminum pontoon boats. It has served me well and is still working well. I use an air cooled torch while doing mobile work and water cooled in the garage. I usually set the max amps at 175, ac freq at 100, ballance at 30% positive-70% neg. Argon flow at 20 to 25 outside and 11 inside garage. I leave the foot control at home and use the 2t switch with a button on the road.
Just a quick review after 1 year of part time use.

This sounds great. I use a Miller Dynasty 200DX myself for the same type of work.(marine aluminum)
I would like to see a fingertip controller option for this machine. It is not practical to always run back to the machine and adjust peak current.
The extra 50 amps would be sweet tho.
I am not interested in making a controller myself but a good working one would make this more enticing to professionals IMO:waving:
