Have a friend with one... I think he has a warranty issue.
As for me, I'm banned, and won't be bothering you any more.
Did your "friend" contact Everlast? Did Everlast renege on the 30-day trial or the 5 year warranty?
Out of any production run there will be a certain percentage of flawed units. How a company, be it Miller, Everlast, Lincoln, or (insert company here) backs up their products is the measure.
It is amazing that you would take the time to hijack several recent threads with posts about basically the same off-topic rant. This thread should have been enough unless you like "troll" added to your name for the four total posts that have a similar message.
But some would consider it nice that you speaking for your "friend" instead of letting him/her speak from his/her own experience. What a good buddy.

Hey... folks should that I don't own one, and have no idea what to do with my free time other than make the mods work OT at WeldingWeb.

I don,t suppose this has anything to do with FabCrazyGuy emailing a certain party in regards to there units selling on EBay? . In the response it was stated that the negative posts where all plants from the Competitors.
As you have just signed up and all your posts to date are directed towards Everlast. How about getting your friend to post up with particulars such as purchase date and model.
If he would prefer to do this in private he can Email me at sales@everlastwelders.ca or call 905 630 8246 . I will be happy to discuss any issues he may have and will work towards resolving any real issues .
Incedentally the same Ebay seller i have made mention of above has sent me Emails in some sort of feeble effort to create drama .
