If anyone can help I appreciate it, tha is in advance
Also of someone knows if you can use it dc +&- or just one or the other

1. Use the search function on this site.

2. If you don't find what you are looking for via Search, try looking in the Everlast forum on their website for specific reviews.

3. Lastly, if you have specific questions regarding Everlast's product features, why didn't you go to their website to begin with?

What's the purpose of these product forums?...maybe i'm missing something, I thought it was to discuss everlast welders. Why would someone go to their website where it has been alleged that they delete bad reviews? What good is that? I'm still on the fence about buying one of their welders and want to hear from people who used them and get an unbiased opinion of their product. All the everlast guys should be banned from posting in here and the moderators need to stop acting like 5 year olds with an axe to grind. I'm looking for unbiased reviews and they're not going to come from the people trying to make money of me or biased moderators. I was dead set on a thermal arc 185 till the prices went up then I seen the series of Videos from Jody on the 250ex and figured I'd check it out and see what it is all about...now I have to wade through all this bull and try and figure out if this thing is worth the money and if it's going to fit my needs...what a joke.

And this is why I asked here, I did do my research but like what was mentioned above I'd like some actual owners of the machine that have used it more than a month or so to chime in and say what they like dis like etc I mean a I'm a student I don't have 800$ to piss away I'm going to school cos I can't find a job and the last thing I want to do is take a loan out for something that sucks (not saying they do cos I'm leaning towards it so I hope it don't) but just trying to get help that's why I'm a member here for help, thanks again to whim ever wants to take 5 mins and reply, яon

Honestly, there are only two I have heard of that have experience enough to offer an educated opinion. All the other people who have posted thoughts on the welders have been "noobies" to welding as they put it. They were looking for a cheap machine to learn on. The two reviews I have seen or read, that of lugweld's and of welding tips and tricks, they like them. As for durability and long term life of the machines, no one has put one through the paces. I would like to see how a machine handles like after 5 or 10 years of continued service. Not brutal service as I don't think they are industrial capable units. But a good long life is something that will catch my dollar's attention.

If I had money to burn I would buy one and try it out. Heck I am for giving cheap stuff a try, BUT I don't have the money to waste on units that may break a year or two down the road. If I drop a grand on a welder I want 10 years out of it at least if I do my part to not tear it up. I have only lost 3 welders in my life. They were all used welders when I bought them and all of them had many, many, years of continuous and hard use. all of them died due to user error or abuse. one was a 20 year plus miller ac tbolt that spent most of it's life in an outdoor work area the duty cycle was maxed almost everytime it was cranked up. The other was a miller 250 dialarc. It died to over use of carbon gouging with the wrong size carbons and for too long. the last was a lincoln 250 genset that was burned down due to a fire watch that crowded the welder with oily rags and the exhaust caught them ablaze. I don't expect any welder to take over abuse and survive, but I do expect a welder to live with in it's limits year after year. Longevity and Everlast haven't been able to reliably show they can do that.

I am not knocking them in this post. I am just very careful as to how I spend my money when it comes to equipment. When I bought my LN25 PRO, I debated on the 12VS. As much as I wanted to try the 12VS, I knew the abuse a LN 25 could take and the longevity of it so I bought it. Since then I have been able to use and verify the toughness and longevity of a 12VS and may oneday own one of them if I were to need one.

Basically, read all that you can, and buy what you want. I find the whole process intersting. some are more concerned with front end cost. some are more concerned with weld characteristics, some are more concerned with back end cost and some are concerned with bells and whistles. What ever floats your boat. It all will impact your decision, but ultimately it is your money. I don't care what you buy who you buy it from.

Wow....2 whole posts and you seem to know everything that is going on.

I will save you the grief of having to deal with us "bad moderators".

I hope you enjoyed your stay...as short as it was.

You can ask your questions from actual owners on "their" forums.

Take your attitude with you when you leave.

You should be able to have dc- and dc+ just swap the leads in the connectors on the welder, takes 5 seconds. thats how my 250ex is. i have that 250 and a plasma, both have worked very well for me. most of my aluminum welding tops out around 180 amps, it does very good and i have not been able to get light to come on that says its being overworked. even stick welding with 5/32 rods for a few hours straight.(not that it should, its rated way over that) I no nothing about the multi purpose units but I know for me I don't care to switch the torches around so I just got one of each. the welder first, like it so i got the plasma to try. I have post over on everlast forum showing how i put a nice esab torch on mine. I don't use my stuff every single day but they still work when needed. i would put my usage above hobbyest and below industrial. not constant use but i do get into some decent size projects. either way, unless you are on the welding web inner circle ; your testimony of everlast products means nothing here. its your money do what you like.

Why do you guys keep pushing the envelope with comments like this??

You think that making underhanded remarks like that is going to go over well?

Don't change the subject. This has nothing to do with your welding equipment but everything to do with your attitude and the underhanded comments you guys keep making.

...and I have no need to go anywhere to use anyone elses equipment. I have plenty of my own.

I was a member of a car forum long since gone. It was dedicated to old muscle cars with big blocks. the admin finally just shut it down from all the rice burner guys trying to argue that they had muscle cars. they just could understand that they were the problem. There was always an under current of backhanded remarks from the little guys. There will always be those that are the victims. funny thing is the guy that started the forum loved the rice burners and was really into 'drifting' when it became popular. He just had a love of BBs in old cars cause of his dad.

it has everything to do with the equipment, from my standpoint, i could care less about the politics. Many people on here seem to think its ok to trash a product they have never used, sorry but i take offense. maybe that is where the attitude came from...

I don't recall seeing anyone in this thread bash any equipment.

If you get your feelings hurt over other people' opinion of what you buy then nobody here can help you.

I suggest that you see someone with a lot of degrees on the wall and a long couch to lay down on.

There are many places on the internet to discuss these machines. If you don't like what is being said about them here then go somewhere else.
