Finally retired my Lincoln PC40. and my new Powermax 45 arrived today,Only tried it for a little whilenup to now but WHAT A MACHINE, Hard to believe that so much power comes from such a neat unit, I would still like to know if it is worth getting some Powermax 30 consumables for it as well, can any body tell me how much finer will the kerf be on thinner metal?
Best regards Gordon.

The fine cut consumable will definately help with dross and slag. Use the recomended cut speeds and the correct tip and clean up is almost nonexistant. Definately worth an experiment or two to see how it works for you.

On 10 ga material the kerf with the 45 amp shielded parts is around .038" to .040", with the 30 amp (non shielded) consumables the kerf is about .005" narrower. I prefer the 45 amp parts as they are shielded, cut close to as well on thin gauge, and last about 2 to 3 times as long.

Hello Jim,
I was hoping you would reply, Thanks for the info, So i will just stay with the 45 nozzle etc for now, I'm so impressed by the cutting capacity of this machine,And looking forward to the consumables lasting far longer than my last machine. Can't imagine anybody buying this cutter and not being absolutely delighted,
Thanks again, Gordon.
