I got one of these in the 3rd edition from Harbor Freight (in store) but wanted to recommend it as it's just chock full of every spec you could want for welding and fab.

Has per foot weight on most common rod/ bar/ angle etc as well as welding reference, bolt marking specs, wire and resistance etc. a great value for the money

Along the same lines, the 3 pack of welding calculators from Miller are $4 delivered and also very handy

That pocket reference is a great book... I got one about three years ago for xmass..

i would also suggest the most current Machinist or Machinery's Handbook.. they're not cheap, but worth every penny..
