What would a SAM400 be worth? diesel engine not running they say it has a fuel problem, possibly pump. Here is the code & s/n. code:8340-M s/n 935657 thanks, quinq
I haven't a clue what it would be worth, but it was manufactured in mid to late 1980.

You, or anyone else, can look up year of manufacture of Lincoln machines using the list on my website:

Your question is like asking "what's a Chevy Camaro worth"
Condition is everything.
If the engine isn't running, it's probably not worth much more than scrap value. In good running condition it's going to be in the $3000 to $4000 range based on what we are seeing machines go for this year.

It's still way to broad of a question.
If my brother owned and maintained the machine and I knew it was well taken care of, I'd offer the fair market value of the machine less the estimated cost of repairs.
If it was for sale by someone I didn't know or trust I'd assume the worse and wouldn't offer anything above the scrap metal price.
I would't pay a thousand dollars for any welding machine that wasn't running.

I'd offer maybe $700 or $800 and see what happens.
