I bought a PowerMax 30 last week. I am very happy with this machine and wish I had gotten one sooner!

After playing with it for about an hour I decided to see what it could do on 115V in the hands of a novice. ( I did use a dedicated 20 amp circuit).

It cut through the channel (more than 1/2" thick in places) with ease. I did have to slow down a bit in the thickest places, but with zero experience I was very pleased with the results!

Sorry for the poor quality pictures, all I had was my cell phone at the time.

Thinner material cuts fast, and if I do my part, very cleanly.

If you are on the fence about a plasma, I'ts been more than worth it for me. the HyperTherm PowerMax 30 is a beast for the size and price, and even on 115V will flat out cut!

Looks good. I am considering buying a Powermax 30. I only have a 115v outlet with 20 amp circuit breaker, so it's good to see what it can do.

I really only need it to cut 1/4" steel reliably, and I'm not really that concerned with speed either as long as it can do it.

I just picked up a used one today with hardley no use for $650. Can't wait to get into action next week! Planning picking up a consum kit and circle cutter for it next week as well.

I also just picked up a (used) Powermax 30. I have a quick question, too. On mine, the air input fitting wobbles about 3/16" of inch side to side. Basically, it is only stopped by the size of the hole in the case of the unit. Should it be more secure than that? I literally just unboxed it, and haven't even plugged it in yet.

Also, did they all come with both 120v (NEMA 5-15p) and 240v (NEMA 6-50p) adapter pigtails, as the manual suggests? I'm missing the latter.

Thanks.
