It is way too much fun!!!
I just got a bottle for my new Syncrowave 200 yesterday and fired it up. It is awesome! Not like I know what I am doing or anything but this is some fun $hit!
The amount of control you have is amazing, just watching the arc form, the puddle form, then solidify back as you play with the peddle and the reaction the metal has in and around the puddle.
You guys have been keeping this TIG stuff a secret from us down and dirty MIG weld guys. Sure MIG is easy and fast, but this TIG stuff is the cat's a$$!
My $0.02.

And you know, I thought I was the only person in the world that gets this excited about GTAW welding. Seriously. I probably stick weld 5 times more than I do GTAW and I love that too but there's something extremely cool about this process. I just got done running some this afternoon on a lid I'm making for a tongue box in the front of an HE trailer. Just some steel diamond plate to a frame but I wanted it to have that signature TIG look so I took the time to run it this way.
I love it! Glad you do too.
Enjoy.

I was jassed like that when I tried DC tig on my powcon and foun out how well it worked for a basic scratch start machine. The arc being so precise and having such a great puddle view do make it a fun process to use

C'mon Zap,
You know you love it too. I've seen some of your work. Anyone that TIGs like you do has to love it.
Besides, you get ALL the fun jobs.

It is really, really fun. MIG is great functionally. I don't have the skill or money to buy a great MIG welder to do the whole "mig like tig" pretty weld thing, so to me TIG is like using a brush and MIG is like using a can of spray paint. It truly is fun.

I told my wife the same thing, she told me "you must be doing it wrong", didn't ask her to eaborate as to which she was referring to.--Matt

I've always loved the way the beads look nothing like some good old weld porn to look at.

There was a joke that a doctor told his wife she was terrible at sex. Next day doc came home early to find his wife with another man. Doc asked what she was doing; she said, GETTING A SECOND OPINION !!!!!!!!!! :D

Better than sex....no
Fun....yea.
I just like how quiet and clean it is (especially on DC)...there's no crackle pop and sparks flying all over, just nice and tidy.

I don't know about that, having to do it every day 8-10 hours may take the fun out of it.
