Looks like a nice machine, amp range of 30-300 amps. seems to be the same as the 255xt at $800 less

I was checking it out yesterday, looks pretty good. I wonder what they'll retail for if msrp is only $2k, if it's around $1600 like the MM212 or Ironman 230 I can see Lincoln getting some extra sales.

I had emailed customer service and asked about what is different from the 255 machines. Their response was:

"The PM256 was an upgrade from the PM255XT,
just a different control board layout,
same capabilities.

The PM256 will do 3/8 aluminum single pass,
1/4" multiple pass, staying in the duty cycle.
As to the short circuit or spray, that has to do with
your weld procedure, type and thickness of material.

The 250LX Spool Gun will hook right up to the unit.

This machine is rated 250 amps at 40% duty cycle and
300 amps at about 20% duty cycle.

The input needed for this machine is 230 volts 60 amp service".

K3069-1 One-Pak® Includes:
 POWER MIG® 256 with Magnum® PRO 250L
 Magnum® 250LX Spool Gun (K2490-1)
 Dual Cylinder Mounting Kit (K1702-1)
 Regulator (K586-1)
For around $3,300.00

I bought one about a month ago because they had the $200 rebate going, So if I ever get that $200 back, I'll have $1900 in it. I do light fab work, 3/8 steel is the thickest I've used it on so far, but I'm impressed with the machine thus far. I've really only done pretty standard mig'ing with it so far, but I like it!!

I was looking at them when I bought my mm252 but lws hadnt sold one or have any in stock. They said they changed some cosmetic stuff went to their own lincoln gun etc. So with the unkowns I bought the 252. The lower price was intriging but taking the miller home that day was more important
