This is a picture of a winch bumper I built for my personal truck.

Very nice, what thickness material did you use? Did you take any pics during the fabrication?

Yes, I did take pictures of the fab. They are at home and I am at work in Alaska. My wife sent this one for me to post. I used 8" channel iron I believe it is 11.5 lbs per foot. The web is 1/4" with 1/8" skin on top. I boxed in 4X4X3/8"angle for the winch. The brushguard is 1/4" plate with 1/4"X2" flatbar wrapped on the perimeter..Since this picture I have added 2 ea. pad eyes bolted to the frame for pulling. Thanks for asking.

Nice job sutto and the right brand too! Welcome to the board. What part of AK are you in? I watch the Fairbanks highs & lows almost daily.

Thanks, I am on the North Slope...Very top of the state in the Kuparuk Oil Field. I am going to attempt to post a picture of the bumper during fab. My wife just sent it to me.

Sutto, Nice job..I just got the materiel to make a similar bumper for my 91 bronko..the things I have planned diferently are to use treadplate for the top, 2.5 inch pipe on the top around the lights (hoop), a reciever mount so I can use my hooks and shakle in the front or back....but all in all, going for the same look as yours..was there a purpose for the cut outs with the perfaratred plate along side the winch ??

My guess would be air for the Power Stroke intercooler.

Just one word of caution about these heavy front bumper systems, they will collapse the truck frame, usually behind the cab, when hit hard.
Been there, done that, and didn't get the Tee Shirt. Aetna didn't even use vasalene when they showed me how glad they were they met me.

Franz,

Esplain yourself......

You didn't have a hard time collecting an insurance claim due to aftermarket accessories did you....... :D

2.0, have you ever had the fortune to be involved in a wreck where you and the drunk who hit you were both insured with the same carrier?
The drunk had crossed the centerline, and would have hit head on if I hadn't swapped lanes with him. He was .034 by blood, and Aetna wound up with a judgement against me for $450-.
Those rottin BUSTURDS at Aetna didn't pay me a dime for the truck, lost tools, damaged equipment, lost earnings, or anything else, and then the rat bustards at Aetna hired a QUACK who was workin off a malpractice claim to cut off my medicle treatment.
Let me put it this way, AETNA SUCKS SH!T!!

Thee perforated holes are for the powerstroke innercooler. Aaron was right..Actually the top skin on the bumper is diamond plate..I had it sitting there and it just did not look all that good to me so I flipped it upside down..
