Is this the same bandsaw as the one at HF. You guys seem to like the $149 so much that I'm starting to think I need one also. It has Clarke written on it, but looks like the same crappy frame.

I looked at those, for 50 bucks more, they seem to be a little better made.
Still needs a new stand.

That's the unit I have. It's okay, I guess. It was at the right price. :D
I have made a few mods to it, and I am still using the first BM blade I installed over a year ago. I use it all the time, cutting steel, aluminum, and SS. It is a reasonable saw for the money.

Looks like the new one is question will cut much larger material: 6x12 instead of 4x6. Could make a difference to some of us.

Mac: Its the same bandsaw, I think they just cheat on the ratings

That's the Clarke version of the HF saw. It sells at my local TSC for $189.00. It does have cast iron guides and a beefier vice than the HF saw does but the motor is smaller, ratings exxageration or not.
