I am a complete idiot when it comes to wiring. I am in the process of installing an outlet in my garage for my 220v welder. The outlet I have is a NEMA 6-50, matching my welder plug end. The question I have is that I bought a breaker (40amp) that obviously has two spots to attach wires to (two hots). The wire I got has basically 4 wires in it. A green ground wire, a white wire, a red wire and a black wire. The red and the black will be my 110v legs attaching to the spades of the plug. Do I do anything with the white? Ground goes to the round post I assume. Am I on the right track?
