So the "local" Miller dealers are much higher priced for their equipment than some of the "internet" dealers. Yes I understand profit....:) But my bank acct. also has it's limits...:)
The question is this: Does the "local" Miller dealer have to honor the Miller warranty even if you did not purchase the equipment from them. Sounds like a dumb question but I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone....I do have my suspcions as to why, but that's another issue.

Yes, my local Miller dealer does honor all warranties. I think by contract, they are supposed to...bound by contract.

This is one of the main reasons I won't take my warranty or other work to a retail store. I always try to find a repair only depot. I have a good one here. All they do is fix stuff and most of it is blue.:p No ..."you didn't buy it here" or "no we won't fix it, but will sell you another one" crap. That eliminates a lot of the headaches.
As to the warranty, yes they do....if they don't just because they didn't sell it, make it known to Miller. Once Miller gives them a talking to, they just might change their tune....I had to do that with a Ford dealer once. Ford Zone gave them quite the tounge lashing. Sent their own tech and parts in to fix my trouble...and the dealer's.:p

Show your local dealer the price you see on the web - Mine came within $50, and that was good enough for me. I like being able to call them and ask for help......

We have never turned anybody away for warranty work, no matter where they bought the unit. Sure we would have liked to have had the chance for the sale, but have found that if you take care of a guy, and don't give him a hard time about it, he'll come back, and hopefully will buy his gas, wire, etc from us. A lot of times we can come within $50.00-$100.00 of what the guy can buy the unit off of the internet for. There is a reason your "local" dealers are higher priced, if they are like us they have outside sales reps, counter salesmen, route drivers, service techs, office support staff, etc; where the guy on the web may just have his computer, a credit card machine and probably doesn't even stock the unit, he just has it dropped shipped from the factory.

I have bought welders from local and from Internet. My local shop is VERY good but they have to come down to the price range of the Internet shop. If they are within 30 or 40 bucks I will buy local just because they take care of me with Welder gas and Kegerator CO2. If you let a local know the prices you can get they will usually be competitive. And not give you any problems about fixing any equipment you have regardless of where it origonaly came from.
