I am working on a basic crane to load a rim and tire in the back of one of my MVs.
A buddy got me a half inch thick plate 25x40. I needed a piece 14.25x27, so this was close enough. This plate will go under the bed to re-enforce the bed steel so I don't rip the bolts out lifting this heavy (tire and rim) combo.
I had read where this old of a machine really isn't supposed to cut half inch plate, but she did it, and did it well. I am SO GLAD I got it back in operational shape. I don't use it much, but it makes life so much better when I need it.
All thats left is to install my QCTP on my lathe and turn down some steel to let my crane swing left and right. I will try to post some pics once it is installed.
