Hey I am a noobie welder(month or two, on 6010 overhead right now) enrolled in a tech school welding program, and for my welding processes class I have to do a written and oral presentation on thermal spray welding. I have found some decent info online (especially Gordon Englands site) but cannot find anyone doing it locally(Bellingham, Washington) so I am curious where I can find out about specific applications of this process and businesses that would have something like that inhouse. I am more interested in the LVOF and other types of thermal spray that are more likely to be manually applied than the typically fully automated thermal plasma spraying. I really need some more pictures of the process being employed, more info on the history of the developement of the technology, and the costs(equipment, consumables, prepping, operator pay, ect.), pros, cons versus other practices. Any ideas, info, or just pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated.
