Good reference Sandy. Too bad you weren't near me Crimson, I am teaching a class on weld symbols wed. night! AWS has a whole book dedicated to symbols also. AWS A2.4 STANDARD SYMBOLS FOR WELDING, BRAZING AND NONDESTRUCTIVE EXAMINATION. Hope this helps, Henry

Get the book "Modern Welding", and "Blueprint Reading for Welders". They are great additions to your library.

Google "welding symbols". You'll find more than enough information on welding symbols. Here's what I got by googling it....http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=welding+symbols

You could try to find a book titled "Blueprint Reading for Welders" co-authored by A.E. Bennett and Louis J. Siy ,the ISBN # is 0-8273-2997-0 for a soft cover workbook, I still have mine from '92-'93. I'm pretty sure you could go to any bookstore and order it with the ISBN #.
All kinds of info for reference purposes. Its about 305 pages and covers structural, pipe and some machining practices. It was around 23.00 when I bought mine....who knows what they are now.....
