I recently acquired a Kemppi MP1500 with MM05 and MTLG attachments. I know nothing about the machine other than the model numbers given. Where can I get manuals and specs on this machine? I also need a mig gun to go with it as one was not included (the MM05 mig part has never been used). Is there an aftermarket mig gun that I could purchase easily in the US to fit the Kemppi welder (maybe a Lincoln, Miller, or Tweco)?
Kemppi has, as far as I know, never been sold in the USA- so all Kemppis that are here are gray market imports.
NO service, no support, no consumables.
I would email Kemppi in Finland for manual and specs- I dont think its a current model, so its not on their website- at least I couldnt find it.
I would take the mig wire feeder in to a decent full line welding supply store, and see if they can come up with anything that fits- but you might want the schematic from Kemppi first. You might be able to remove the female fitting from the Kemppi, and put in a Lincoln or tweco part, then use a US style gun.
It might just be worth it to buy a gun direct from Kemppi, or their nearest authorised dealer, even if its in England- I occasionally buy CD's of english bands that are not released here, and shipping from england isnt THAT bad- the problem would be tips and liners- if there are no US available ones, then you would have to buy a big batch of tips when you got the gun.
