This is a wedding gift that I made for my sister. (Don't tell her, she hasn't seen it yet  )

It is stainless steel cut with a plasma torch. In the bottom two sections are each of their initials, in the upper two sections are the date they are getting married. I colored the edges of the cuts with a TIG torch.

Unfortunately, I sent it to her over a month ago and she still hasn't recieved it. All the other packages that I sent on that date have been at their destinations for over a week. I hope that it will either end up there or back here before the wedding, or I will have to just give her a picture of the gift

Another great job by the USPS.

If I have to make another for my sis, then I might consider making more than one...

Everything that I have had delivered by UPS looks like it has been used as a soccer ball then run over a couple of times by the delivery truck. I have never had a problem with the USPS until now :(

Do you have parts that you make more than one of with some type of reusable pattern ? I would like to get a plasma, and that's what I would need, a way to reproduce multiple copies of the same part, but obviously as a hobbyist I can't afford a CNC machine. Any ideas / experiences ? Thanks Sam

Plane.....I like to use cardboard, but not the box kind, its like the cover of a phone book.....make an original, and just trace it on to your metal, I've probably made about a hundred skulls with my template. Print shops usually have some nice sizes that you can usually get, just say its for your kids project....:p

Well, being that the idea for this came out of the convoluted birdnest between my ears, I had to make my own pattern. I took a sheet of cardstock (like the back of a thick poster) and using a yardstick, I graphed out a grid of 1" squares so that I could attempt symmetry when I sketched out the design. I used a pencil so that I could correct mistakes. Then I traced the design (not the grid) with a sharpie so that I knew where to cut. I got out my nice cutting board and used an exacto knife After the design was cut out, I taped it to the stainless and used a sharpie to trace the design onto the steel. I removed the pattern and cut out the design with my husband's plasma cutter.

Nice job. UPS stands for United Package Smashers. I had a trolley for chain hoist shipped. The Box was beat to pieces.
