You might try Two Guys Garage Forum for car repair. There are plenty of good automotive forums you might go into google and do a search for some. I have also got some very good info on Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forum.

Watch out for misinformation on that forum. Especially in the welding topics.

Try the Hobart Welding Forum. That seems to be a reputable and active forum with lots of good info. :blob3:

I've used this one several times http://www.eng-tips.com/
You really did'nt specify what type of car so... most vehicles have specific forums.

It would be more helpful if you specified exactly what car/truck you are looking ot work on. I mean all of the systems are fairly the same so far as theory but there are plenty of other things that are specific to certian cars/trucks.

Stangnet.com mustangs
Rx7club.com Rx7s
S10extremest.org S10 trucks/blazers mainly for offroad.
Pirate (cant think of the exact site but you can search for it) has alot about jeeps and alot of offroad fab/welding done on alot of different types of vehicles.
Howstuffworks.com also has alot of theory things on alot of different things in the world. I remember getting these books when I was in elementry school and was fasinated. The website is lightyears ahead of the books I remember.

If you want to just learn about automechanics in general get a book from the bookstore like the current text book for Auto class would be a fine book. I have two copies as thats what I was studying for a good while, about one class short of the degree (slaps self). Anwyays, hope this helps.

www.island4x4.com
www.ih8mud.com
www.pirate4x4.com
www.offroadfabnet.com
www.crawlinbc.com

most of these are pretty good if you have off road related questions, www.ih8mud.com is a land cruiser website but the rest are general off road sites...enjoy

Try the H.A.M.B. "the h.a.m.b. - a community dedicated to spreading the gospel of traditional hot rods and kustoms to hoodlums worldwide." mostly hotrodders talking about mechanics and welding.
