Hi folks i just found a, sa 200 welder on a trailer and was wondering how can i tell when it was made. I dont know much about them but this one is a little different from all the other sa 200 ive seen. Its got a bared grill not expanded steel or mesh grill and its red not gray. Did these come on trailers or was it an option? Did lincoln make the trailer? Any info would be helpful Thanks

Lincoln offered a trailer if you wanted it. I have a 1948 with the bar grille. You should be able to find the code of the machine on the face plate, or just over the generator left side support foot. Someone painted that machine red.

These engines are the same engines that were in my father-inlaws massey harris tractors. if my memory serves me right the date was cast into the the block in the lower left corner. this machines has 11 52 cast in it. I just gotta say this is an awesome find for me. i would love to bring this home and restore it.

take the plugs out and spray a penatrating oil like pb plaster int them and take the starter off and try and pry it backwards is how I was taught to unsieze a motor
