It might be old but she works like a charm :D
It was a freebie so I can't complain. I put in a new switch, new cables, a paint job and now I can get welding.

LOL - Way cool, Benny!! Dang, that's impressive. You guys are gonna convince me to start painting my recovered stuff.
Well, I dunno, that may be a reach. I just hate to paint; my old bandsaw was a rare exception.

That housing dates it pre 1960 for sure. Sort of amazing what a can of paint can do, but I'm with Cutter when it comes to painting.
One thing Benny, the bushings the welding leads come thru the housing in should be insulated. Over time, the vibration in AC leads will eat thru the insulation, and without insulated bushings, you could make a big nasty arc in the housing.
Enjoy that old girl, she's got another 50 years of welding in her for sure.

Thanks for the kind words guys
Franz - You are absolutely right and I have already made better bushings that won't wear the rubber insulation.

That is a stunning transformation! It has that oh-so-sexy sitting-in-the-Airgas-showroom look to it.
Freebie huh? You lucky dog, nice machine!
I particularly like the symbol on the side.

I wouldn't have thought it was the same machine. Nice Job! :)

But... but... It's not RED!
Nice job, btw... I think there is nothing more satisfying than taking a tool that someone else has abused and discarded and making it productive again! Come to think of it, I need to go see if there's an update on Cutter's vise project ;)

Then I guess I need to go post something but there is no good news, dammit.
The front panel really cleaned up nice! Good looking paint job.Why don't u get some female receptacles from ur welding supply for it?
