What do you use for a back pad? (Ive come close to doing that a few times). I was thinking of a wrap of leather or something to that effect.

That's a nice one. That reminds me of when we were all getting certified here at the shop a few years back and one of the guys didn't start in a good position but was determined not to stop the bead until he had completed it, he ended up with almost the whole top of his hand as a blister. Probably the worst I've ever seen. He passed the test, probably wouldn't pass an I.Q. test though![]()

Lorenzo : When that blister starts to weep make sure you keep it clean. Infection is a future complication. I found that Flamazine is great under a dressing and speeds healing. In Canada it is by prescription only.
Another way to go is to get those clear plastic dressings and leave it on until the wound is sealed. Don't know the product name but they are becoming common on drug store shelves.

thats why you dont crowd the gun or stinger. learn to stay back from the weld. i have welded up to 3 inch plate and have never gotten a blister like that.

Aloe vera outside.....spirits or cider from the inside. It should heal that way...if it doesn't, you won't care.
