    Tire Rack

Been sticking this together for the last couple days, inbetween soccer tournments and a couple days off vacationing. Tire rack for a racecar shop. 12 feet long.

Here it is again, with a little first coat of paint on it. Mounts to the wall.

Just a bit closer. Should look pretty neat in Yellow against the newly painted white wall.

Looks nice, I got a question though, how do you make the rounded ends on pipes?

Antibling. Thank You. Those are dome caps They are welded on. There are also flat caps if you just wanted to close off the ends. I like the look of the domes.

Shade, with your equipment, I'd hang out with you at your place and "we'll" have fun making one!

Slag, I'm appaled, you used those manufactured caps instead of orange peeling and welding hell out of the ends.
Must be you weren't getting paid by the hour.

Heck with the tire rack, I would like to see more detailed pics of your height adjusting welding table! That looks awesome.

    Thanks.

Franz. I beg for forgiveness on my sell out with the caps. I have done one end like you said before, on a scrap piece. That was awhile ago and maybe my skills have improved enough now to do it with more success. It hasn't been long enough to forget how much work it was. I went with the caps. I thought you'd be proud of me!!

Ronor. Thanks. I thought I had a post about my welding tables, I looked and I can't find it. I must have posted on the Hobart site. Since I am having such a good time playing with my new camera, and since I havn't posted much about my tables on this site. I think I will and of course post way too many pictures about it. I'll have to wait until later tonight as I work until 8 pm. or so.

Slag, don't tell anybody, but if I had the choice between orangepeeling one and using a foactory made, I'd go with the factory made too.
There's a lot to be said for knowing how to make your own though.

Franz. I won't tell anyone. I'll make an orangepeeling one, and post it for you. You have to agree not to tell anyone about this either!
