It is a good buy and cheap because it is a 3 phase machine. You will find plenty of 3 phase machines on eBay at a good price because not alot of people can use them. See the plug on the back? That is a 3 phase plug.

No problem, I just like to keep things organized.

Do you have 3 phase power?

I'm not sure how you can find a product number on a welder you don't have?

The Invertec V300 is a Multi-Process welder. I believe they are similar to Miller Shopmates? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I know the Lincoln Invertec V350-PRO and V450-PRO are both advanced process welders. Why not give a call to Lincoln and ask?

I would be careful on that unit, he states, "This unit is in great shape all looks good." Unless I've misread, he never states it works good.

The one in the picture is NOT a single phase machine. What see on the back is a 3~ no 1~ . He says that the current type is "either" but I bet he is referring to the voltage, not the phase. Look very closely at the picture of the back of the welder. If you don't have three phase power available to you, you will not want this machine.

This is a quote from the AD

Lincoln Invertec v300-pro, inverter style welder, works on a wide range of input power either single or three phase, this

    That is a nice machine.

    It's plainly marked;

    3-
    60HZ

and he's already stated he knows it's 3 phase and has that in his shop.
On the back data plate, what is the stamped number immediately following V300-PRO ?? I can't make out what that number is supposed to be. There aren't any other numbers visible in the pictures.

I asked the guy for the code #. If its single phase, it will go for about $1200.

I bid on a bunch of these. I ended up buying a brand new V350. I don't regret it a bit.

Here is a blown up shot of the back. It's clear enough to see that there is no mention of single phase...only three phase. I think the guy doesn't know or is trying to misrepresent it...however, if you expect to use this in single phase, I believe you will be greatly disappointed.

I just looked through the operators manuals. All but one is listed as single or 3 phase. They make a 575volt ONLY 3 phase machine.

Not trying to get into any kind of contest, but thats the glory of an inverter, it can use any electricity because it chops it up into smaller pieces that are easier to handle.

I emailed the guy and got the code # 10256. There is the 575 Volt 3 phase only model. The regular model is single or 3 phase.

    Here is the instruction manual

If you look at the plate, below where it says V-300 Pro you can see it states 3phase, AND 1phase..unless im wrong and 1~ and 3~ does not mean 1 and 3 phase power...correct me if im wrong though please.

This is the switch from behind the side cover where you can switch it from 200-230V and from 380-460V....So this IS the SINGLE AND 3 PHASE Machine. Not trying to bash anyone especially the moderators, but just clarifying what this machine is.

You know I find it kina odd that you live in Ft. Gibson OK and the welder is for sales on Ebay from Ft. Gibson OK. I think Ft. Gibson only has a population of 4,000. Is this an attempt to run up the price of a welder that you own?

So, ftgokie - what is going on here?

I've traced your IP address, so an explanation might be in order for these folks that were trying to help and you're misdirecting.

If you simply wanted to sell it, this post will be re-directed to the for sale section.

    David, FtGokie,
I am convinced. It's both single~ and three~...I didn't see the single to three phase thingie in the top of the id plate. I am glad you were both persistant, when I was wrong. Furthermore, I do not have any direct experience with these machines, so, I probably should have simply deferred to yours. No contest...when you are right, you are right. You have my appreciation.

I have however, had experience with three phase machines being claimed to be capable of single phase operation...I still have one...When I saw the three phase voltage listings with no mention of single phase, alarm bells went off in my head. I am feeling better now.

I have the V350 and its the nicest welder I have used.

After looking at the Lincoln website, the V450 is three phase only. Whattamachine. 575 Amps, 293 lbs.

Looking at the rating plate, if you look at the lower right corner of it, it says "see operating manual for 1 phase operation."

    Just sayin . . . .
Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.

Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.
