    Canvas cover for old Weldanpower

Anybody know if one of the canvas covers for the Ranger line of welders will fit a old Weldanpower code 8705. I know I saw a post on here of a cover on somebody's Weldanpower but I can't find it now. I was thinking the Lincoln part # K886-2 might be big enough but can't find any dimensions for it.

Nobody that I know of in my area that does that kind of sewing these days. Nearest place I found when I was looking for this kind of service a few years ago was 75 miles away. Thats why it would be easier to find a off the shelf cover.

Any boat yards in your area? They usually can direct you to a sewing outfit as they use them to do re-upholstery of seat cushions, etc. They also do almost any kind of canvas work. Just my thoughts. Best Bob

You can sew canvas on most older sewing machines if you use a heavy upholstery type thread, a #18 denim/canvas needle, and go nice and slow. I have an old all-metal Sears machine that I keep around for stuff like canvas tent repairs and patching/re-zippering carhartts and the like.

Also, if there's anyplace nearby that rents out big-top tents, bounce houses, etc, they are usually equipped to sew canvas and other heavy materials for doing repairs. Probably more likely to find a place like that vs a boat yard.
    You didn't build that.

    That cover fits a Ranger 250, which is 29.9 in x 21.5 in x 42.3 in or a Ranger 305G which is 36.2 in x 21.5 in x 42.3 in.

They do have a couple other covers. http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us...es-covers.aspx

I ordered a custom flame resistant tarp in olive drab for my welder from this place. It was fast and well made. Had grommets for tying down.

Many upholstery shops do semi truck tarps when they need the work. The tarps get torn from use & usually get patched several times before someone has to make a new one. The ones I worked with years ago were patches & new grommets, got around $150 for the repairs, $15 per grommet.

That was in 1982 though. Might look at the auto upholstery shops to make one for you.

I wanted a light weight cover for one of my sa200's and found a grill cover on amazon for less than $30. Not at all heavy duty but just what I wanted. As others have said, I have had heavy duty canvas covers made at tarp shops, usually less than $50. A lot of them will do it all mail order.
