I'm betting it has something to do with the music in the background that is typically on his videos.

not that I have your talent sir but wouldn't it be easier to just tip the box on end at this point ( doesnt look too heavy) instead of struggling with position and pedal control.

What fun is rolling it over to weld?

Fexal, looks like you need to back off the pedal a little slower. Also- Wheres the weld pics?

Nice, that's one of those times where a finger control would come in handy

Im not trying to come off as a d@#k but this is why I use a simple on off switch (99.9% of the time). I could have welded all of those hinges in the amount of time it takes to jack around with a foot pedal.

You can also try using the pedal between your thighs. I've done that many a time when inside something. I'm not a fan of hand controls. It's easier for me to squeeze the pedal than mess with a rotary hand control. Just my preference.

The ON/OFF switch is a good idea tho. Simple & in most steel TIG apps, you can control the heat with filler deposition & travel speed.

    IMHO of course

    I like the cabinet.

You Ain't too lazy to weld, That is a lot of filler on those hinges.

I would loose the foot pedal, too.

Foot pedal fan here. I can not get used to the finger control and I am no where consistent enough to use an on off switch.

You need a hand control for this kind of stuff. I have a ck worldwide rotary amperage control that mounts on the torch. Works perfect. At the time I bought it I was doing aluminum floor wear plating. Cut my time in half. Paid for itself the first day. It's great for tacking. I don't use it in the shop too much as I prefer the foot pedal. Definitely worth having in your bag of tricks.

When I had to weld hinges on I bought the ones with the holes in it. And mig welded the holes, super easy and quick.

Looks good though. Can't wait to see how it looks all done up.

How much do you think you will have invested when its done ?

That's a good question..... I would have to go back and look at all of my metal receipts.....

Just an estimate..... I probably have $400 in it now...... and will probably top out around $600 or so when done......

Now that's subject to an opinion. The only few times I tried to tig weld, I thought that was like learning to drill a hole in one's tooth. Whereas STICK welding, I find it akin to shooting an M-240 Bravo, belt fed machine gun! Really laying down some weld!
