PowerArc 160 sth min power inputs

I'm looking at ordering a PowerArc 160 sth, and like to know minimum amp input on 220v. This is my problem, garage only has a 40amp service running to it at this time, but I have a 20amp 220v plug for my compressor and like to know if this machine will be able to run off that but at a lower max amp output. Thanks

    That's a dual voltage 115/220v machine. I don't see it pulling more than 20amps.
I've seen that thing on amazon, does everlast still even sell it or offer a warranty? And from what I've seen it does't come with a foot pedal.

Everlast still sells the 160 STH. Five year warranty and 30 days return policy. Pedal is an extra $75 or at least that's what I paid . I suggest calling in direct instead of ordering off Amazon if you have any questions.

Yes, we still sell it. Lots of them. Foot pedal is optional. We've also added the 200ST to the line up.
40 amp is enough to run the unit on 220V. On 110, it's going to pull slightly over 30 amps if maxed at at start. Not enough over to trip the breaker though. With a 110V 20 amp breaker, you'll be running up to about 80-85 amps before it would trip.

Gamble did I sense that somehow you might be trying to disparage the product? If so, why?

    No, how do you figure?
I said I can't see a small unit like that pulling a lot of amperage. And it's not on the everlast site. I've only seen it on amazon. I think anything that comes with HF and doesn't come with a pedal is silly.

It's on our site, and has been. click through to see more details about it.

Well considering the type of work it's designed for isn't silly at all. We do sell one if you want one. A lot of people buy it for it's stick welding capability and that's the S in STH.
A lot of people don't use the foot pedal with TIG, especially when they are out in the field. In fact, I'd wager that most DC only TIG welders are used in areas that a foot pedal isn't practical.
