Show us what you welded today!

Interesting looking. Nothing was cleaned since this was a test piece to make sure I had a .250 filet.

    Don't worry, I'm a welder.

Aluminum is 1.5"x6" it'll be about 50' long when it's done
Is that an art piece or functional?

I got into my middle finger a week ago with a portaband on a swag table ripping some tube. I got lucky and caught it quick and was using the slowest speed with a 24tpi blade. Sure woke me up. That looks like it felt real good Dot.

Glad you are okay. Band saws don't care what they cut. Ive been in two of them. Why do we do this again?

I was trying to be careful then got to comfy and bam oh sheet :O time to run it under water and get out some paper towel and tape. Accidents happen quick and usually when we get in a hurry.

Been a while for me. I was using a big Powermatic bandsaw in high school. I believe the band was the one it came with years earlier. Making it cut I had to really push. I was roughing a disc of Maple burl to make a bowl. It was six inches thick. I pushed as hard as necessary to cut Maple. As it turned out flesh, and bone were easier to cut. Left bird finger it went even with the base of the nail, maybe 5/8" deep.

Years later I split my big toe in half with a very sharp double bitted axe. Briefly, it was six toes on one foot for me. These things will happen.

My neighbor/surrogate grandfather cut the same thumb off three times on a homemade table saw. By the end it wasn't very long.

An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.

Hey Dot, I know you know that you cut half the structural strength off that trailer when you removed those rails?

Yep. Its getting new and taller walls and an actual cap in the retrofit.

The customer is starting a trash bin cleaning business and this is the beginning of his first rig.

More of a decorative piece, mirroring a pattern on the floor, it's a salon/barber shop

I'll have a pic of it installed later today

We finally got the plasma table to cut. It took about an hour to to design and cut. The software is difficult to use ( in my opinion) and the cut quality is not what I expected. My expectations for a cnc machine were much higher. That being said I could not have cut it by hand.
    Which table and torch?

Jd1; it is a plasma cam table just basic software, and a hypertherm 45xp with a machine torch. It has the board installed so with the cable by pjmetalfab? It just plugs in.

Fabbed up some big thick pivoting arm.

It's all from 3/4" 1/2" 3/8" and sch.80 pipe. Had the syncrowave at 310 all day!
