    Jobsmart welder

Check out this welder they got at TSC,it only goes down to 80 amps,no way it could weld anything thinner than 1/8" but it is advertised to be able to weld 18 gauge. My HF 90 amper will barely weld 16 gauge and it goes down to 58 amps.

    Re: Jobsmart welder

I have the Harbor Freight 90 amp and it goes down to 63 amps on low and 14 gauge is about as thin a metal it will weld without burn-thru.I've tried spot welding 16 gauge with some success but was a PITA.I would maybe search for one that would go down a little further in amps.I know the Jobsmart says it will weld 18 gauge but I don't think it would, not even spot welds.Since I added the capacitor and rectifier to my HF 90 to convert it to DC,there is know way it will weld thin material.
