    SS Filler Questions

Haven't done SS before, have a few projects that need it now and will be buying some here shortly and very confused on which one to get.

Only need a pound of it, which will probably last me 2-3 years. Have been looking into this and found the filler to buy is 308, but upon further reading 309 can also be used for SS to SS as well as SS to mild, buttttt upon further reading 312 is even more versatile then 308 and 309 as it can do SS to SS and everything in between while having a higher resistance to crack.

Now, this stuff is spendy and like I said I don't do SS other then a few things here and there and would only like to buy a pound if I have to. So is there a SS filler out there that will get the job done for me? This will be used for exhaust work, coffee mugs, repairing tools, attaching things to tools, etc. Nothing structural or anything that would be holding someone life together....

So can 312 be used for stainless to stainless applications?

    Re: SS Filler Questions

I recently learned 312 is even more corrosion resistant than 308.

You will find it to be a more stable flowing filler as well.
