    Got the lift mostly figured out. Couldn't come up with a way to make it go vertical with the cylinder I have.

    Being right handed, I'd want to stand where your wood hoist is. I would add a 5/8" nut to each corner of your push face. Wood can be irregular in shape, Your zodiac sign isn't enough to contain an unruly block of wood.
