    Miller airpak

Looking at a 1997 miller airpak has the optional 3 phase gen 10kw/15kw waiting on ser# from seller 6000 hours said to be in good working order for $3500 obo and ready to goto work any cons to this unit ? Other then the stator being obsolete on some but can be modded
    Thanks for any input
I was looking at a trailblazer 325d prior
And don't like that the 302airpak was gas and this is diesel

A gas engine drive with 6000 hours? Wow, lots of money for an end of life machine.

Sound like a great deal. That's pretty much what I'm looking for. Big enough for carbon arc gouging with its own compressor and a 3 phase generator big enough to power the shop when the lights go out.
Lincolin Power Wave 450, Lincoln Powermig 255, Lincoln Pro Mig 140, Lincoln Squarewave Tig 275, Miller Big 40 G(with Hobart Hefty suitcase), Thermal Arc 95S and Esab PCM875 in an already full machine shop.

Yah my needs are the same but my shop is mobile it will be here weds next week going to have to modify my bed to make it fit with enough ventilation or just raise it up in bed. I have 30 inches width in the bed with sides being 30 inches high and length being 8 ft
I talked with my local miller repair facility with the serial number and they said they have all parts needed available. And got pricing on a few things iirc screw compressor rebuild,cv board and main boards so I had an idea on repair costs that will come up and I'm still under anything else I was finding cost wise

If that unit has a wet compressor. make sure you put the right oil in it or you can kill the compressor.
We have rebuilt several because of the wrong oil.

Well got the miller airpak the compressor is part of the motor looking to possibly need the rings replaced going to go thru the check valve and unloader assembly and see what is going on only building 60 psi and need to chase down the wiring on the low idle relay

First thing to check is the fuse and fuse holder. I had a fuse holder go bad on mine a few years back. They are a standard fuse holer you can get at a parts store.
When you get into the air end parts they seem to cherish them immensely.

There are 3 wires to that coil. One is ground, one is a pull in coil, and one is a hold coil. There's a relay on the engine side of the firewall between the generator and engine that switches that circuit. If both of those are good, short of a bad wire, the idle controller would be the issue. It is located behind the front control panel. If that needs changed it is set in some heat sink compound to keep it cool.

the solenoid on left is what I'm talking about which is controlled by cr99 the solenoid on the right is the fuel solenoid its working like it should I think it turns fuel on when turned to run and off when switch is off I'm finally got a new vom since I lost the one I had when they stole everything and am going to test the idle controller behind the face of the machine
