Did I buy a boat anchor?

So I was buying tools off of craigslist last week and put together a package deal for stuff. Included was an airco 250amp wire feed welder. It is 3 phase 220 from what I can tell which makes it so I can’t test it. (Don’t have 3 phase power) Story I got was grandpa had it in his machine shop, he got sick closed shop and brought everything home. Supposidly it worked prior to grandpa getting sick. Grandpa then passed 3 weeks later. All this occurred about 2 months ago. Anyway wondering if this is worth anything to try and sell or is it scrap?Name: 7DC086B4-9221-4C0C-904C-F61D970B0801.jpg

I have no idea what it's worth... But if it works, those are one bulletproof machine. In the 80's I ran miles of .045 Fabco 802 through one doing rock crushing equipment repairs.

Cool. I have no doubt it will work. I hope someone is interested in it as I have no use for it. I just have know idea how to price it. I’d love to trade something for it.

Several years ago I bought 4 of those plus various wire feeders, cables, etc for $228 off ebay. Gave one with feeder to the guy that hauled them for me and has 3-phase power. Gave another package to a guy that converted his to run on 1-phase and still have 2 collecting dust on a shelf in the shop. It was too long ago for me to remember exactly how he did the conversion but I believe it was similar to the Kemp-Haus we see all the time.

Thanks. I listed it locally for sale for $200 just to see if theirs interest. I’d almost rather trade it for something but don’t know what. It looks like it was a nice machine in its day.

Ended up,selling it for $160. It’s someone else’s boat anchor now. Glad I got it thrown in on my package deal of tools. I’ve almost recouped all my money now.
