MECO Type O multi seat regulators

I've had a set of type O MECO oxy/acetylene regulators for years and they were old when I got them. The other day I noticed the line gauge on the acetylene regulator was creeping up and up with torch valves off. I started exploring repair options, I really didn't want to junk them. I asked around and found a local shop that would look at it. I took it in, he looked it over, went to a vice and removed the cap from the rear of the regulator. He took a screwdriver and removed the seat block that has 4 seats on it. He rotated to a good unused seat and put it all back together. He said I had one more left and then I would need a new seat block. Took about 15 minutes and $10 and I was fixed. I was happy it was simple, did a google search and found advertising from MECO in 1922 touting their multi seat regulators. Are their any others like this? Victor bought MECO in 1999 I guess and phased their products out. Anybody else have any of these?

That's really interesting. I didn't know some regulators were made that way.

Only 8am and I've already learned my "something new" quota for the day

Glad to help. It was news to me as well. Just in case somebody has the same problem you can fix it yourself. It's not rocket science.

I wonder if my old oxygen regulator had something similar. I replaced it when it started to creep.

On the back of both type O regulators it states "multi seat" so the oxygen regulator is the same. Still have it? Tare it down and look
