My new Razorweld helmet arrived and its....

    freaking sweet!
Literally has wayyyyy more clarity than my optrel vegaview 2.5! Memory settings could come in quiet useful too if I decide to tig or stick weld with it.

Large viewing area and four sensors it appears.

Let us know how well it works on very low amperage tig. That's what sold me on the Miller Digital Elite "X mode"....no flashing when tailing down to 5 amps. And no false triggers on fluorescent lamps or sunlight.

How good is the headgear? Replaceable batteries and if yes, what type?

How much does it cost and are you a dealer for it? My Dogturd 2000XL backup helmet pooped the bed.

set my machine at 5amps and did a lot of arc starts at different angles and every sensor caught it no problem.

Re: My new Razorweld helmet arrived and its....

That's funny, I demoed a Lincoln 4C and a Optrel 2.5 at home about a month ago and compared them to my Miller Digital Elite. But bought the Weldcote Ultraveiw helmet 3/5-13 it's much brighter on the light state than the 4/5-13. The Weldcote helmet is exactly the same as the Razor helmet. My demo test had the Weldcote helmet easily being the best with the other three being almost exactly the same for clarity with the Optrel 2.5 having the best view in the light state of the three, but the Weldcote had more of a real color in the light state than even the Optrel 2.5 which blows away the Lincoln and Miller. The Weldcote and Miller were the best for staying in the middle of the crack of a mig weld. Two thumbs up on the Weldcote 3/5-13 Ultraveiw.

Gamble, I'm sure you can get the 3/5-13 from Razor too. Other than the light state I believe they are exactly the same. I was going to post something about how good these helmets are, but thought nobody would believe me. Mine cost 144.65 before tax.

Pretty much the same hood. Before it was digital CK used the same company to make them. I have used other companies with the same hood but some tend to cheap out headgear. I do agree that my vegaview 2.5 has the best light shade I have ever used but the true color clarity on the razorweld is amazing. Better than the optrel, better than my jackson balder and my miller. I'd say it's on par with the optrel e684
Hard to believe you can get a helmet that nice for $150 or less. Because of the sensors and the size difference it's naturally a little heavier than the optrel but I'll take it!

Just so you know the 3/5-13 hood is Model XA-5122TD and you have the XA-5122D, the XA-5122TD has only been out a few months.

I haven't kept up with their model exactly but thanks for the info. They probably got the 5122 before me, this is very new to me. I knew it was in development for awhile but wasn't allowed to say any more

PM me the WW price, and also if my Jackson Nexgen lens covers will work in it.
Now it seems all I own are ESAB products, a lonely Hypertherm 85 and couple of Miller XMT's.

I have never used any of the previously mentioned helmets, but I do have an ARCONE IDF81 and its pretty dang clear. Very "greenish" tint to everything. The functionality is a little confusing at times and I'm tired of pulling out the manual so it just stays on single shade- actually the controls are downright a pain in the a$$. Could you PM me the price? Thanks!

So has anyone bought one of these from Gamble? I would be interested in hearing feedback from other users who have bought the new Razorweld shield.
