    I have these Gillettes.
I think the 2 outside ones are/were the standard.
I prefer the long handled one, it was my dads.
The gold one was my uncles, quick change toggle works slick but I dont like the way it 'feels' in my hand.
I still have, somewhere, the one issued to me in 1966 when I joined the USAF, cant find it tho. This one the handle unscrewed off the top to change blades (three pieces)

    Is this necessary?

I suggest you tone the racial parts DOWN.

    OR ELSE.

those are a bunch of nice razors..I asked my mom if she had any of my dads old shaving stuff and the next time I went over she did, an old gillette g4 that I used a few times and an old twinplex double edge blade sharpener that I dont think ill use as the blades new are not much and I doubt it will still sharpen the blades..

    Awesome thread...

Pics of my grandfathers shaving kit. Included the original receipt for purchase of the straight razor, along with Use and Care instructions. Tube of strop dressing about half full. Straight razor left a bare patch on my arm. Reluctant to have it anywhere near my face.

Don't be so scared of the auto strop razors. They do in fact leave an amazing shave.

You can take new blades and break them to fit the old auto strops. Some guys swear by them!
