    Linc welder 225 help

    My welder runs great at idle but when i start welding it bogs and starts backfiring it has new point, plug and wires and the timeing is right i dont know where to go from here
    any help would be apreciated

    first, let me apoligize for not knowing the welding 'lingo'... 'lincoln welder 225'... anyway..sounds to me like your missing one of the 3 components of the fire triangle..1. being .. heat source.(spark)..2. being air.. gonna get it almost without thought... 3. being..fuel.. gas...im thinking gummed/clogged/plugged fuel source... tank strainer.. fuel strainer.. needle and set.. float level...main jet...may i suggest. .enrich (screw out the fuel needle a full turn)... start it up and see if youve changed the symptoms...it should give you somthing to go on...GO FOR IT... you can always put it back to original spot...hope to have helped

    . . . and double check your points gap. It affects the timing.

    It is the coil pack on the rotor the wires were pretty rotten
