building new welding trailer

ok guys here's some pics of my new trailer in progress, I probably could of bought one cheaper than building one but what fun is that. I've also added some pics of the welds,{not too good with a camera} The trailer is made of 2x2 square and 2x1 rec for top rail and its 4'4"wide by 8' long.

The welding isnt too terrible,,, you have the idea. It will take some tie to learn to be neat. Turn that machine up at least 10A yet.

Nice looking trailer Rodburner. I don't see anything wrong with the welds other than like Sberry said, some could run a little hotter.

May I strongly suggest that while it's still easy, you cut the toung loose and hinge it, so the trailer can tilt. Many times in the future you'll be happy to have the tilt function, and it's easier to incorporate now than it will be in the future.

Secondly, on a machine like the Bobcat, try setting your range switch so you will be working with the other dial about midrange.

What would the reasons be for a tilted tongue? Only thing i can think of would be for inclines and such. Could you elaborate on a few things you have encountered please. thanks

By hinging the toung at the back of the toung, the trailer bed can tilt.
That makes loading and unloading a lot easier.

Is a hinged tongue the same as a forked tongue?

Now i understand why ya would want it to tilt if ya was unloading a golf cart off of it but welder will be bolted to frame, I really don't see a need to tilt the bed. Appreciate the thought though Franz and thankyou for replying and giving ideas for future projects.

I'm just waitin to see if we get a Ladies Auxiliary board on here.
Will W.W. become the Martha Stuart of welding?
Will there be threads on Cleaning his Lense while he's at work?
Does the UV in the welding shop help houseplants during winter?
Do you preferr Sledgomatic or a Cast Iron Kettle to make your point?
Guys, I tell ya, we're in a heap of trouble here!
