Headliner???

Does anybody know how to reattach the fabric on a headliner??

Noticed today that the fabric is saggin' on one side of the cab in the PU. The cardboard backer is still ok, but is there any way to get the fabric to re stick to it from inside the cab without taking the whole liner out.

Thanks

Yes, I do.

No, there is not any decent, way to do get the fabric back.
Most headliner material is a stretchy fabric, backed by a thin open cell foam. This foam is glued
to cardboard or fibreglass mat formed headliner. When this foam ages, the fabric separates from the foam and you have unending, increasing, droopy, saggy headliner fabric. Trying to re-glue
fabric to crumbly foam--just doesn't work.

The cure is to remove the headliner board/fibreglass mat, clean all that crumbly foam off---
and a bunch more steps; which I've outlined with pics in write-up, if you're interested.
It's more than a 5 minute job on any vehicle.

Re: Headliner???

I went to a used car dealership yesterday looking for a cheap winter rat. Several cars there had that sagging problem, this guy just used short staples to hold them up.

Re: Headliner???

CRAP!!! That ain't what I wanted to hear.

That's the side the dog rides on. I kin just picture him sittin' there with just his nose stickin' outta a big fold of fabric sittin' on his head. Be bad for his self esteem.

Ok Blackbird, I trusted you on the propane tank issue, so give me the gruesome details on this mess.

And as for you other clowns...... How am I gonna get a decent woman to look at me goin' around like this. Bad enough the dog messes up the deal half the time. "Oh what a pretty dog you have", (My eyes start twinklin', and my tail starts waggin') Then Clarence tries to take her hand off! End of story.

This is rapidly approachin' a crisis. That's my 94' F-150, its still new!

Would give it that 'agri-CULTURAL' look too.

Actually I think Denrep would be to go to guy on auto-decorum and restoration after the award winning remodel he completed awhile back;

and farmersamm could pick up some tips from denreps dog. She's real picky too. Won't ride in just anything.
